How To Postpone Three D’s Of Aging

There is nothing wrong with getting old, but since it is unavoidable you can do something to postpone visible signs of aging. It is all about being natural and taking care of your skin and your body.

Aging is a natural process in whereby cells begin to renew themselves more slowly. This means less collagen and Hyaluronic acid to support and fill out the layers of skin. Environmental effects, pollution, sun exposure, stress and smoking can all increase this effect and impact the appearance of your skin. Over time, this combination of factors contributes to the three Ds of aging;

Deterioration is the first and earliest sign of aging. At this stage, fine lines, wrinkles and textural change are visible.

Deflation (a loss of volume)

Descent (dropines of the skin) is the final sign of facial aging. The deteriorated facial tissues cannot shrink as the facial volume is lost so they hang.

It is always easier to prevent damage than to reverse it. Sooner you start; better your chances are to look younger than your real age. There are some tips what you can do now to reduce appearance of wrinkles later and look your best:

Skin looses its firmness as people age due to a reduction in collagen and eslastin. This loosening is one of the main causes of wrinkles and can not be completely avoided. There are some wrinkle causing factors, like environment and habits that can be avoided. The following list explains different ways a person can avoid or reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

  1. Do not smoke. Smoking reduces the production of collagen. In addition to the natural reduction in collagen that comes with age, even more reduction leads to even more wrinkles.
  2. New plastic surgery options. Advances in plastic surgery means that it is less invasive and safer than ever before. Plastic surgery results are not guaranteed, but often result in reducing wrinkles and keeping new ones from appearing for some length of time.
  3. Limiting sun exposure. The sun is a major factor in skin damage that causes wrinkles. The sun dries out and ruins skin over years of exposure. Protecting oneself with sunscreen and avoiding sun exposure during the most severe times of day is the best way to minimize sun damage.
  4. Moisturizing. Keeping skin from drying out by hydrating it with moisturizers will help skin keep its firmness.
  5. Keeping hydrated. Drinking ample amounts of water also helps the skin in the same way as moisturizing.
